How can I use the desktop version of Nutritionist Pro™ on macOS?
If you are a macOS user, there are some options to make PC software (such as Nutritionist Pro) run on your Mac.
The first thing you must determine is the chipset your system uses.
To identify this, you will first go to your Command Menu (Apple), then choose the option About this Mac. Within the modular window that pops up, it should identify which Chip you are using. Apple M-series chips are ARM chips. Intel chips will identify themselves with the full name of the chip, including "Intel" in them.
Intel-Only Option: Boot Camp
If it uses an Intel chipset, you have the option of Boot Camp with an Intel-based Windows (standard windows installation). Boot Camp is not available for M1/M2 (ARM) based systems to run Windows, even Windows ARM, at this time and there has been no published information to date to suggest Apple will undergo the development to enable this.
ARM (M1/M2) and Intel Options
For both chipsets, you can use Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion Pro, or UTM to run Windows on macOS. You must ensure that whichever chipset your system uses, that this is the paired version of the Windows OS you purchase for use (example, Windows ARM for M1/M2, standard Windows for Intel).
Cloud Option
As a non-installed, cloud alternative, you may have the option of using Microsoft 365 Cloud PC.
Once you have Windows running, you are ready to install the desktop version of Nutritionist Pro™.
While development on a fully functional online version is underway, we do offer some online-based software that is compatible that performs the following functions:
- Recipe analysis
- Food Label creation
